Why Playing with Your Pet is Important?

Playing with you pet is important for both pets and owners. Your pet’s health will benefit emotionally and physically. It will also strengthen the bond between owner and pet.

Just a few minutes per day of play makes a huge difference. Play can help relieve boredom and reduce destructive chewing, scratching or attention-seeking behaviour

Toys

  • Size

Make sure you avoid small toys for large pets as they can be easily swallowed.

Small dogs, cats and puppies need smaller toys, too big and your pet will not be able to play properly.

Cats need something they can handle and move so make sure the size and weight is appropriate for your cat.

  • How does your pet chew?

Always buy a toy that will stand up to heavy play if your pet is a heavy chewer.  If your pet likes softer play, why not choose a plush toy? Here at PJ, we have a chew and toy for every pet.

  • How does your pet play?

Some pets like to shake toys and pounce on them. A hard-wearing squeaky toy is perfect for them.

If your pet responds to noise the squeaker toy will be perfect.

Cats love movement and pouncing on their ‘prey’ so toys with motion are a must!

Remember, play is an important part of your pet’s life …… Enjoy!
