Dogs and Bonfire Night

  • Make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise earlier in the day, they will settle better if tired.

  • Keep your dogs inside during fireworks, preferably with human companionship
  • Provide a safe place inside for your dogs to retreat. When scared of sounds they get confused. Dogs often prefer small enclosed areas so make sure they have a safe place to retreat. A piece of your clothing with your scent will comfort them.
  • keep the windows and curtains closed. Covering the crate will also provide comfort.
  • Make sure all your dogs are wearing ID tags with a properly fitting collar. Dogs have been known to become Houdini around this time of year.
  • Leave your dog something fun to do – Like one of his favourite Howler Chews
  • If you have to leave you dog alone why not try a Calming Shirt and spray. The shirt will feel like a hug and give comfort to your dog
